Agricultural attractions in Western New York

Outside of the urban centers of Buffalo and Rochester, Western New York is still a largely rural area with an active agricultural industry. While dairying is king, almost every kind of crop that the climate allows is grown somewhere in the Genesee Country.

The best way to experience this variety is to take in one of the many harvest festivals that occur throughout the summer and fall, attend a traditonal county fair, stop at our many roadside markets or attend one of our Saturday farm markets. The Finger Lakes region is renowned for its favorable climate for grape growing, and many wineries offer tours and tastings.

Some farms even open up their barn doors to show the city slickers how it works. Check out some of the attractions below:

Genesee Valley Hunt, Geneseo, Livingston County

Pageant of Steam, Canandaigua, Ontario County

The Farm Market, Wyoming, Wyoming County

Long Acre Farms, Macedon, Wayne County - Home of the Amazing Maize Maze

The Windmill Farm Market, Dundee, Yates County

Tired Iron Tractor Museum, Cuylerville, Livingston County

Walnut Hill Driving Competition, Pittsford, Monroe County

Watt Farms Country Market, Albion, Orleans County 800-274-5897
